Groupe Hautier takes part in the exchange programme PEPS launched by the CARSAT Center- West. 4 years ago, the company engaged in a process of Social Responsibility of the Company. Therefore it is now relevant to continue this engagement with the programme that was launched by the CARSAT. Hautier West was at the heart of the experimentation.
The idea behind PEPS is to review the company’s performance linked to the development of the work environment well being. The main aspects of the RSE are social and economical, that is why it makes sense to associate these to Groupe Hautier.
Before we began it was necessary to identify areas of development. An internal working group was built including subsidiary executives, one staff from Operational, one staff from the Workshop and some staff representatives (drivers).
The working group suggested an anonymous enquiry for the entire subsidiary employees. Its goal was to identify the issues during every step of their job. A second non anonymous enquiry specified each employee’s needs. The last step was to show the staff the result of their performance over a year period.
After consideration of the many proposed actions, only the following ones were selected:
▶ Daily meeting between the Operational and the Workshop, as they work together;
▶ Make use of the mobile app to increase communication between executives and employees;
▶ Modify the mobile app so that it can dematerialize the repair requests from the drivers with a tracking of the repair process;
▶ Make available an osteopath once a week at the company premises with booking only free access;
▶ Make evolve truck specifications in order to improve driver’s comfort because they spend a lot of time in their trucks.
We can already appreciate the results: the app is often used to improve the flow of information. The newest trucks are in line with the driver’s needs. The osteopath agenda is full every Friday afternoon. The repair requests from the app are booming.
This successful experience has given the subsidiary solutions for problems that couldn’t really be identified before. Therefore we decided to expand the PEPS to the whole company.
